1 John 4:19-20

19We love because he first loved us. 20Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. 21And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister.

Although I fail to do this sometimes, this verse hits me and truly puts things in to perspective. I want to be this verse in my everyday life, and since I have the privilege of working around people all day, I hope that my life will reflect this verse to others.

I wanted to quit many times, but if you want something bad enough, you hang in there. Leshea Perkins

LeShea Perkins, Fitness Professional, Yoga
leshea@lorayathleticclub.com

My relationship with yoga started three short years ago. Yoga immediately became a passion and a lifestyle that I knew I had to share with others.
My intention with my students is to create an atmosphere where you can be strong and weak, opened and exposed, explore new challenges, yet always feel safe.
I consider myself a motivational teacher who gives others confidence in their bodies ability to heal, strengthen and evolve both on and off the yoga mat.
You can expect my class to help you challenge your physical limits, bring you greater knowledge of your body and breath in the poses, and most importantly to laugh and let go. You will leave class feeling strengthened and lengthened and perhaps a bit sore in areas you’ve never felt before. I find challenge, comfort, and joy in my own practice and aim to share that experience with my students.

At a personal level, I love fitness because it’s always been a positive outlet for me. I enjoy challenging my body and seeing what I can make it do. It’s a test for me. Focusing on my fitness helps me process ideas better and it helps keep me calm. I enjoy being in a positive environment where people want to invest in their health and I enjoy exchanging ideas with those who have similar goals.

Valerie Rice

Valerie Rice, Office Manager
valerie@lorayathleticclub.com

Valerie has been in love with physical activity and movement from a very young age. At 2 years old she would stand in front of the TV and mimic the swing of a baseball player. Naturally, the obsession continued as she spent every moment she could outside exploring, playing, and of course many years on the softball field.

As an adult she reconnected with the same love and dedication of physical strength, competition and exploration she had as a kid, through Crossfit, which today has evolved into a love of weightlifting and nutrition.

Today, the mom of two and wife of a power lifter is grateful to have found LAC on her pursuit of seeking health and happiness.
